Did you hear the news? Twitter like has hearts aflutter!  Yes, the like indicator is now an animated heart icon on Twitter. As with any change, you are going to hear how some love the change and how some are resistant to it. When all is said and done, everything changes and we just have to roll with the wave of change, especially where social media is concerned.

Not too long ago the addition of emojis and stickers began populating the Facebook news feeds and essentially killing the use of slang acronyms like “LOL”. Now it’s Twitter’s turn to be in the hot seat with the implementation of the heart icon as an indicator to like a post.

Hearts have become extremely popular on social media platforms such as Instagram and Periscope, it was just a matter of time before another one jumped on board. If you still are not certain what I’m referring to, look at the image below. In lieu of the star icon which allowed Twitter users to “favorite” a post, a heart icon has taken its place as an indication that you like a post.

You may as well have some fun and go on Twitter and share your thoughts. Don’t forget to use the hashtag.

Truthfully, I don’t think most Twitter users used the “Favorite” function to its fullest potential. The easy way to show you like something now is to click on the heart icon, it’s animated with the click of your mouse!

Not every tweet will be your favorite, but you may want to let others know which posts get your heart aflutter. [tweetthis]Do you like the change on Twitter, yes or no? #TwitterHeartsMakeMe[/tweetthis]
