If you want to maintain your online presence, you need to know how to spotlight social media this summer. Is social media one of those work tasks that goes on the back burner in the summer months? After all, it is summer! There are vacations to be taken, family to see and visit, beaches to lounge on and campgrounds to pitch tents on.

play
plā/
verb
1.
engage in an activity for enjoyment and recreation rather than a serious or practical purpose.

What is it about summer that makes you want to kick off your shoes, sit in the swing on the back porch or just lie in the hammock watching the fireflies dance on the backdrop of the star-studded night? I won’t deny that any of these things is so appealing at this time of year, I’m reminded of how much more enjoyable things can be when you don’t have a looming to-do list.

Building good work habits will give you more time to spend with those who are most important to you and to do the things you love doing. Summer is a playful time so why not make your time on social media more like play and less like a J-O-B.

  • Share pictures with summer related activities in the background with a favorite quote or business related tip.
  • Ask random questions to your fans and followers about summer events, popular dining spots, or preferred vacation travel modes.
  • Tell your best campfire story and weave it into your next blog or newsletter.

These are just a few ideas off the top of my head for adding a little fun into posting on social media this summer. What thoughts popped into your head that you would like to share with the rest of us? Visit my Facebook business page to share your thoughts.
